FYA Dragonfly Challenge 2020
The FYA Dragonfly Challenge 2020 is a competitive trail challenge for both runners and walkers which offers a testing event for all entrants.
Situated in the Stour Valley, the FYA Dragonfly Challenge 2020 takes in part of the Stour Valley Path long distance trail from around Glemsford through to Haverhill.
Distance: 13 miles / 21km
Ascent/Descent: To be confirmed
Cut-off Time: 7 hours. (Checkpoint has a cut-off time – please enquire with the Race Director before entry).
Terrain: Mainly trail with a few short sections of pavement/road. Some of the trails are narrow so care will be required if passing other participants. Equally, we ask that slower participants make way for those who are approaching more quickly from behind them. Faster participants, please signal your approach to those you are about to pass
Navigation: Marked route, marshalled at key locations.
Timed event: Yes - chip timed.
Bag Drop: Yes - at own risk (unmanned)
Aid Stations/Checkpoints: Yes x 1 (it will be possible to leave a small named bag/box for the checkpoint at registration should you wish to manage your own event nutrition) - please let us know at registration so we can reduce waste food/drink at the aid stations.
Parking: To be confirmed.
Spectator Facilities: Yes - depending on the venue we hope to offer spectator facilities once more.
Route sheet/GPX file available to download: Yes - link provided by email shortly before the event.
Finishers medals: A medal will be provided to everyone who finishes the event.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the first three finishers for each of the running and walking events in the form of trophies.
Finishers/Participants Tees: Available to ALL participants at extra cost – make your choice upon entry to the race.
Toilets at Start/Finish: Yes (in VERY limited number)
